E3 was packed with content that got everyone excited for what’s to come in the next year in the gaming industry.  We decided to give you our two-cents on what we’re most excited about.  Here’s our Top 10 list.

Number 10: Super Mario Maker (Wii U)

There was tons of hype about this game coming into E3.  I mean, who wouldn’t want to design there own Super Mario maps!?  And of course, Nintendo is releasing another set of amiibo figures for this game.  My only issue with this game, personally, is that I feel like it might getting boring after sometime.  Yes, you have the freedom to design whatever you want, but if you design the level then you’re going to know how to beat it or simply just modify it so you can beat.  Only time will tell.  Super Mario Maker releases on September 11th, 2015.

Number 9: Horizon: Zero Dawn (PS4)

From the creators of Killzone, PS4’s newest exclusive is a dinosaur-robot shooter.  If that doesn’t spark your interest then you’re not a true gamer.  This is a completely new style of game and it will be extremely interesting to see how it plays out.  The E3 trailer looks incredible.  Let’s hope the final product is just as stunning.  We will see this sometime in 2016.

Number 8: Star Fox: Zero (Wii U)

Although Nintendo’s E3 was an overall disappointment, this game seems to be promising.  With the use of the gamepad, players will be able to experience Star Fox in a completely different way that the Nintendo 64 and Nintendo 3DS versions.  The new walker mode is another interesting aspect added to this game in which player can turn their Arwing into a ground unit and take on enemies from a new perspective.  Release date is not official but will be Q4, 2015.

Number 7: Animal Crossing: Happy Home Designer (3DS)

This is not your traditional Animal Crossing game, and that’s okay with me.  This game allows you to decorate character’s homes using amiibo cards.  Players will scan the cards of the villagers so they are able to decorate their houses.  Don’t worry, you won’t have to buy a new 3DS to enjoy this game.  Nintendo is release an external card scanner for owners of the old 3DS.  This game releases September 25th, 2015.

Number 6: Forza Motorsport 6 (Xbox One)

In the sixth establishment in the Forza Motorsport Franchise, we head back to the track! Race on 26 world-famous tracks and over choose from over 450 cars! 1080p and 60 fps graphics will bring this Forza game to the next level! All-new wet weather races, 3D puddles and night racing have also been added to the game. One last thing we’re looking forward to is 24-player online races!  Forza 6 hits retail on September 15th, 2015.

Number 5: Assassin’s Creed: Syndicate (PS4, Xbox One, PC)

Here at ThatCollegeGamer, we’re huge Assassin’s Creed fans.  We’re exciting for another opportunity to explore a new atmosphere and collect new items.  Hopefully this edition will have a better story than Assassin’s Creed Unity.  As usually the visuals look stunning and PS4 customers get exclusive content. 🙂  Release date is October 23rd, 2015.

Number 4: UNCHARTED 4 (PS4)

Although this is said the be the last game in the franchise, it is bound to end with a bang.  The visuals in the trailer are jaw dropping.  This is said to be the most complete, open world and engaging UNCHARTED game to date.  It has a tentative release date of March 2016.

Number 3: Need For Speed (PS4, Xbox One, PC)

Need For Speed is back after skipping a year.  The newest edition looks better than previous but hardcore NFS fans have their expectations high for this game.  They claim they are bringing back the roots of the series aka. street racing, hot pursuits and heavy customization.  Based on the trailers that have been release so far, the game looks promising.  We can’t wait to get our hands on this game.  Release date is set for November 3rd, 2015.

Number 2: Halo 5 Guardians (Xbox One)

Next-gen Halo.  Need I say more?  I mean based on the beta and gameplay we saw at E3 this year, this game is bound to be one of the best games offered on the Xbox One.  Will it be better than Halo 3?  Most likely not.  But, as long as they have the multiplayer servers up and working flawlessly at launch, I’m sure Halo fans across the globe will be playing this game for years to come.  Halo 5 releases October 27th, 2015.

And finally, NUMBER 1: Star Wars Battlefront (PS4, Xbox One, PC)

IT. IS. BACK!!!  After years of waiting, Star Wars: Battlefront fans can finally stop playing their Playstation 2 and Original Xbox versions and can now look forward to the next-gen version.  Tons of vehicles and power ups will be available for players to battle with.  Players can also easily switch between first and third person mode.  The gameplay video look awesome, show great combat and even better graphics.  We’ll get our hands on Star Wars: Battlefront on November 17th, 2015.
