Pokémon Go will be releasing at the end of July and lets just say, THE HYPE IS REAL! The game is a dream come true for many people around the world and I think Nintendo has hit this one out of the park. The mobile app allows you to walk around your real life town and catch all sorts of Pokémon. Pokémon will spawn based on the geographic area in which you are physically located so if you are by water, you can expect to see water-type Pokémon. Not all Pokémon will be available in all regions of the world. This is an interesting aspect to me because it means I may not be able to catch all of my favorite Pokémon. This will give people the opportunity to catch new Pokémon if they are on vacation away from home. Another thing that was confirmed is that they will only spawn in very public areas. Nintendo does not want its fans walking around creepy to catch a Squirtle.
Gyms are a little bit different in the sense that you will be able to take them on with friends and groups of fellow trainers. Gone are the days of alternating turns in battle. Once a Gym is acquired, members of your group will be able to donate Pokémon to one another! I am really excited about this because it gives everyone another opportunity to acquire more Pokémon! Eggs will also be featured in the game and will be hatched after you physically walk a certain distance. The player will also be able to get items just by walking around town and passing marked locations. Lastly, the app will be free so you know what the means: Microtransactions!
