Pokémon GO released as a free app with the ability to spend real money on in-game upgrades and items. Many people are wondering if it is worth it to fish out real money for the upgrade portion of the Shop and I am going to give you my two-cents on that topic.
The 2 available Upgrades are described below:
- Bag Upgrade (200 Pokécoins): This allows you to increase the maximum number of items your trainer can carry in his or her bag by 50, making it a total of 400 items.
- Pokémon Storage Upgrade (200 Pokécoins): This upgrade allows you to increase the number of Pokémon you can carry by 50, allowing you to carry 300 total Pokémon.
200 Pokécoins is equivalent to $2 USD
I believe that both of these upgrades are definitely worth it but not right away. Chances are, if you do live in an area with a dense population of PokéStops or you are not playing the game too often, then your bag is almost never full. Once you start playing the game a lot and hitting ten or more PokéStops in a given day, I would recommend you go ahead and purchase the bag upgrade. Unless you play the game non-stop, like many people are doing right now, there is really no need to purchase the Storage Upgrade right away. I recommend you purchase the Storage Upgrade around Level 15 due to the fact that you will probably begin farming for duplicates of Pokémon to make their evolutions extremely strong.
In the grand scheme of things, what does $2 mean to you?
