College is a time to meet new people, explore your passion and set yourself up for success in the future. It is arguably the best four (or five…or six) years of your life. The reason for this is because, in most cases, you will have the most “free time” you will ever have in your life. And with no parents there breathing down your neck telling you what to do, you can do everything you wanted to do in high school. For me, that meant playing video games all day, every day.

Here is the Top 3 Reasons you need a Gaming System in College.

College is all about meeting people and developing relationships with people that will be there for you the rest of your life. What better way to bond than playing a video game with a group of friends? There is something about playing four-player Mario Kart with your buddies that trumps going to the bar every time. You have nothing to worry about if you stay home and play games. Not into the Nintendo scene? No problem. Meet some people that have a PlayStation or Xbox One and play online! Games like Halo, Call of Duty and Destiny are great games to play online and create the ultimate team with your newfound friends! Play video games together. Create lifelong bonds.

– Procrastination. Everyone does it, it’s just a matter of what you do when you procrastinate. Most students binge watch Netflix. Don’t be like most students. Which would you rather: be caught up on the latest Netflix Series or win every time you play your friends in Super Smash Bros and Madden? Yeah, I would rather win every time in Super Smash Brothers as well. You do not want to be the guy (or girl) who doesn’t know how to grab and always falls off the map in Smash. When it comes to taking tests in college: study the night before, you’ll be fine. Just make sure you go to class and pay attention. Yes, you’re getting advice on how to be successful in college on a gaming website. You’re welcome.

– Owning a video game console ensures that you will never grow up, which is a good think. They are a friendly reminder of our childhood and constantly make us think about all of the amazing adventures that we have embarked on throughout different games. Who doesn’t get that fuzzy feeling in their stomach whenever they turn on Ocarina of Time and the music starts playing in the background? Video games are a way for you to get away from the stress of college and create new experiences and learn new things while having a great time.

Moral of the story: buy some sort of video game console when you go to college so you can play with friends, procrastinate and most importantly, never grow up!
